This course is designed to introduce you to Sustainable Tourism Development and its key principles, applications, strategies and policies. The course will discuss both the external environment that tourism operates in as well as the sustainability-related dynamics of the tourism system. Furthermore, key assessment as well as management techniques (e.g. indicators) to support Sustainable Tourism Development will be examined. The course’s pedagogy is based on active participation by students. They are expected to contribute to the course with constructive comments, questions and debates.
